Terms and conditions

  1. Definitions 
    1. The "Reinventing the City: (referred to as 'Event' in these terms) to be held on 23-25 April 2024 is organized by AMS Institute Amsterdam (referred to as 'AMS ', 'Us', 'We' in these terms).
    2. You can contact AMS by email
    3. These Terms & Conditions apply to every person registering to attend the Event ('You' 'Your').
    4. We invite contributions to the cost of the Event which can be paid by Your school, college or place of employment (referred to as 'Organization' in these terms).

 

  1. Registration 
    1. By submitting an online registration, You acknowledge and accept these terms and conditions.
    2. By submitting an online registration, You confirm that the information you submit is accurate, true and complete.
    3. AMS will email You confirming that Your registration has been received.
    4. AMS reserve the right to reject any registration request received.
    5. You will receive joining instructions via email to the email address provided on the booking form.
    6. If you are making a booking on someone else's behalf, please make sure they understand and accept these terms before completing the online registration as these terms will apply to them in the same way as for those who make their own bookings.
       
  2. Data protection and privacy
    Any data, including personal data, that you provide to AMS in relation to the Event will be processed in accordance with AMS Privacy Policy
    AMS will use the services of Dryfta to host the Event. You agree to Dryfta Terms of Service and that data will be processed in accordance with Dryfta's Privacy Policy.

    Usage of photographic and video material
    To adhere to global data privacy laws, strict regulations govern multimedia use at Reinventing the City 2024 | AMS Institute events. Attendees may use handheld cameras or smartphones for personal, non-commercial photography, provided it remains non-disruptive and is not commercially exploited. However, publishing, selling, reproducing, transmitting, or distributing photographs is prohibited.

    Professional service providers may be enlisted to document and showcase the event, and social media platforms like Twitter may be utilized to post real-time photos and videos, as well as display selected submissions on venue monitors. Attendees and sponsors are encouraged to share their experiences on social media, ensuring it respects the rights of all parties involved. If necessary, attendees must obtain release or permission to protect third-party rights.

    By attending, you agree that Reinventing the City 2024 | AMS Institute may edit and utilize captured footage for marketing, promotional activities, and other lawful purposes, and disclaims liability for the capture of your image by fellow attendees.





 

  1. Fees, changes and cancellation 
    1. The Event program may vary slightly from the published information, and the title of sessions at the Event may be changed up until the day of the Event.
    2. The Event has different sessions: access will be given in line with availability.
    3. AMS cannot guarantee You that you will be able to have access to Your chosen sessions.
    4. The Event is subject to cancellation, postponement or alteration at AMS's discretion.
    5. You may cancel Your place at the event, provided You do so at least 20 days before the event. To exercise this right of cancellation, please send confirmation in writing to Blueboxevents@tudelft.nl.
    6. If We receive Your cancellation more than 20 days before the date of the Event, we will endeavor to return Your contribution to Your Organization.
    7. In the unlikely event that AMS cancels, postpones or alters the Event, AMS will notify You by email as soon as possible, and you will be given the option to cancel your booking.
       
  1. Content and Intellectual Property 
    1. Copyright and all other intellectual property rights for all presentations and teaching, learning or training materials (referred to in this clause as "Content") provided during the Event shall remain the property of AMS or their respective owners.
    2. The Content is provided on an "AS IS" basis without any warranties of any kind (express or implied). AMS hereby exclude to the fullest extent permitted by law all liabilities, costs, claims, damages, losses and/or expenses arising from any inaccuracy or omission in the Content or arising from any infringing, defamatory or otherwise unlawful material in the Content.
    3. You agree not to distribute, reproduce, modify, transfer, sell or hire any Content provided during the Event unless expressly permitted to do so in writing.
    4. AMS will make as much Content available for Your learning and use as possible, however please note that You may not use Content provided during the Event to support Your own teaching unless expressly permitted in writing.
    5. You agree not to audio or video record any part of the Event using any recording device, unless specifically agreed by AMS in writing.
    6. If You break these rules, You may have to compensate Us and You will not be eligible to attend future Events.
    7. The Event and associated AMS websites may link to other websites and online tools provided for the convenience of the delegates. The contents of these websites are maintained by their owners, for which AMS takes no responsibility. Neither can responsibility be taken for contents of any website linking to this website.
    8. AMS and guest speakers may make recordings or take photographs of the Event, AMS will process Your personal data (including Your image and recordings of Your voice) in line with our privacy policy however please note that: 
      1. Your image may be captured in photographs and / or films produced; and
      2. that the photos and films may be reproduced for promotional purposes, in advertising or in podcasts in future Events.
      3. This does not affect Your rights to access, rectification and deletion of Your data.
  2. Liability 
    1. We are responsible to You for foreseeable loss and damage caused by Us or our failing to use reasonable care and skill in providing the Event, but We are not responsible for any loss and damage that is not foreseeable.
    2. We do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to You where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors.
    3. AMS accepts no liability to You for any losses incurred by you, including but not limited to expenditure or loss of income, that You may incur if AMS cancels, postpones or alters the Event.
    4. Views expressed by guest speakers, exhibitors and sponsors are their own. AMS shall not be responsible or liable for any advice given, or views expressed, by any speaker and/or sponsor or in any material provided.
    5. AMS shall not be responsible or liable for any direct or indirect loss or damage of any sort incurred as the result of the services or information provided in connection with the Event.

 

  1. System requirements 
    1. The Event is held online and requires certain system requirements to function
    2. You acknowledge the system requirements and will check that Your system or Your Organization's system is able to meet these requirements before registering for the Event.
  2. General 
    1. Nobody else has any rights under this contract. This contract is between You and us. No other person shall have any rights to enforce any of its terms.
    2. AMS reserve the right at all times to change, amend, add or remove any of the above terms without prior notice.
    3. If one or more of the conditions outlined in these Terms & Conditions should be or become invalid, the remaining conditions will continue to be valid and apply.
    4. These terms are governed by the Law of The Netherlands and You can bring legal proceedings in respect of the products in the Dutch courts.
